About ForCrohns
WalkForCrohns established in 2002 was created to raise awareness and money for Crohn's Disease.
Since then, we have added other events and so ForCrohns, our umbrella organisation was born.
Crohn's disease is one of many bowel disorders, which can strike at any time and have devestating effects upon people of all ages. Due to the embarrasing nature of Crohn's Disease and the fact that bowel disorders tend not to be discussed in our society, many people suffer in silence and are reluctant to admit to having the disease.
Since the creation of ForCrohns there have been 5 successful events in Hyde Park, London and more than ₤100,000 has been raised as well as much publicity for the disease including a live interview on LBC radio and coverage of the event on the ITV news.
About the organisers
ForCrohns is the brainchild of Lisa Meleck and Natasha Adley who started the events whilst still at school. Both their mothers have the condition and the girls decided they wanted to do something to help those who suffer from the disease.
ForCrohns is something very close to both their hearts. In November 2007 the girls were awarded with a Comopolitan Women of the Year Award for their work.
Please help us in our endeavour to make people aware of this disease and so help to find a cure.

Where the money goes
The money raised is split between two charities: The St Mark's Hospital Foundation and 'Crohn's and Colitis in Childhood' (The 3C's).
The money given to Ths St Mark's Hospital Foundation goes to clinical research into Irritable Bowel Disease. The 3C's does research into finding a cure for Crohn's.
